Drug probe linked to Sushant Singh Rajput’s death is witnessing new twists and turns. New names are emerging in the drug angle and Narcotics Control Bureau are still probing the angle. After SSR’s girlfriend Rhea Chakraborty, her brother Showik Chakraborty and a few drug-peddlers in connection with the drug probe linked to Sushant Singh Rajput’s death case have been detained. Recently, Mumbai’s session court rejected Rhea’s bail.
Now in a recent development, NCB has detained Rhea Chakraborty’s brother Showik’s friend Suryadeep Malhotra after they raided his house. According to a report in Republic, six more people namely Karamjeet Singh, Dwayne Fernandes, Sanket Patel, Ankush Arneja, Sandeep Gupta and Aftab Fateh Ansari have been arrested by the NCB. These six people will be presented before Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate(ACMM) court via video conferencing. The report further states, these people are ‘said to include some of the 'apex' players in multiple drug chains.’
After Mumbai’s session court rejected, Rhea and Showik Chakraborty are likely to move to Bombay High Court. Recently, Sushant Singh Rajput and Ankita Lokhande’s former neighbour reacted to Bollywood drug nexus and told Zee News, “This is the same gang of which I was a victim once. Bollywood's second name is drugs. The drug racket is an interconnected chain."
“I was a newbie then. There was a powder on the table and I said, 'Oh my God, drug.' I was then asked if I am from Alibaug?. If you don't take drug, it is believed you are from a village. There is a dark truth to drugs within the industry,” said to the channel.
